C&C 30 / HULL # 1 / SOLID BOAT / HEAD SOUTH /LIVEABOARD
Vehicle Description
For auction we have a a CC 30 sailboat hull number 1 !
I would say she is very solid for her age , I think the reason being is that being the first 30 CC produced the factory would have gone the extra mile so to speak to make sure it was all done right .
The hull sides look in great condition for her age and I am confident with a good compound ,wax and polish she wil look awesome . The deck also appears to be solid and I have walked all over and have not felt any soft spots and the deck looks to be all original .
I do think the running rigging will need to be looked at " ie ropes " and that will not be an expensive scenario perhaps $150 for a new spool of rope . The standing rigging appears to be in decent shape .
As far as sails go there are 3 headsails I believe in reasonable to good condition , you will still get a few more seasons use out fo them . the mainsail on the boom pictured is in poor shape and we have purchased a brand NEW mainsail for the boat so you will have a new mainsail included in the purchase price .
The hinges in the cockpit for the lazarette lockers do need replacing although these again are small items I think at this point it would be wise for me to say this is not a new boat she is solid and will have many more years of use but do expect to tinker here and there .
Down below I think she could use a good clean and the cushions are showing there age , as you enter down below you will see she is a roomy boat and I think could be used as a liveaboard .
The keel bolts are in good condition and do not appear to have any visible corrosion .
The engine is an Atomic 4 and I have cranked it over but have not attempted to start it as the boat is currently out the water and the gas in the tank is old so i would drain it and replace it , the gas tank appears to be stainless steel .
Storage is paid through November 1 2008 so you have ample time to move the boat or you can leave her where she is .
We are selling her with a clear title .
As you can see we have priced her aggresively to sell quickly at a very reasonable price our buy it now price is 50% of the cheapest boat I found on boats dot com , they sell anywhere between $15,000 and $35,000 with the average price being in the early to mid 20,000s .
What we have done is allow the new owner to clean her up and either resell her to make a profit or enjoy a boat you know you have not over capitalised on.
Please feel free to read our feedback and this will give you an idea of how we operate we maintain very low margins but this allows us to sell our boats quickly and concentrate on turnover .
